Club Chivas

Founded on May 8, 1906, Club Deportivo Guadalajara is one of the most traditional teams in Mexico and given its sporting achievements, one with some of the most wins with 24 local tournaments in their record.

Two times winner of the Concacaf Cup and runner-up of the Copa Conmebol Libertadores 2010, “Las Chivas” of Guadalajara is considered one of the most popular teams in Mexican football.

Its history of achievements is accompanied by great players who stood out for their commitment to defend the jersey, Salvador Reyes, Hector Hernandez, Ramon Ramirez, Adolfo Bautista, Omar Bravo, Carlos Salcido, Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez, among other talents.

Traditionally, the club Chivas has contributed to the Mexican national team by contributing many players.

Guadalajara plays in Akron Stadium, opened on July 30, 2010, and with a capacity for 49,800 spectators.

Designed by the French architects Jean-Marie Massaud and Daniel Pouzet, it is located on Vallarta Avenue and was originally called Omnilife, to later become the Chivas Stadium, until 2018 carrying its current name.
